I say that all the reservations should be canceled. There's no need to divide people in the name of gender or caste. Let the eligible people compete and achieve success.

Actually reservation in general is meant for the slot alloted to the lot of high regard but in todays world the term ’Reservation’ is taken in negative and is meant for weaker gender of society. When men and women are weighed equally at every step then why reservation for women here.Let this also be weighed equally here too.

Men and women are weighed equal! Does they get equal job opportunity? Have you ever faced discrimination just because of being a woman? Reality is very harsh which you are not ready to accept. Women are still deprived. Women reservation is not meant to recognize that women are weak rather it is to empower the women. Take it in a positive sense.

A woman belonging to the educated and elite strata of the society does not get to see the ugly face of discrimination much. Whereas, in the case of rural women, discrimination starts right in the home itself. A rural mother, that too the one below the poverty line will almost always feed her son better than her daughter.
In urban areas, the girl child is given the best education and exposure. She will be capable of handling any discrimination with an iron hand. Reservation or no reservation, the urban woman will march ahead.
Board Exam results each year amply prove what girls are capable of.

Instead of reservation help women to get their actual status they deserve through education or giving award to poor parents who can set examople in taking care of their girl child

Its because feminists want to take the advantages of tradition and modernity. I have seen enough women talk about equality when it suits them and then say that they are ’women’ and need special treatment when it does not suit them. Take for example the alimony act or the maintenance law. Only women can claim alimony and maintenance. Same with all matrimonial laws. They are all anti-male! And no woman wants to get married to an unemployed man. Even today, men are expected to be the breadwinners and cannot get married unless they are well-settled. Is this equality? This is reverse discrimination.

Reality is that men are as oppressed by social norms as women are! Reality is that oppression of men is brushed under the carpet, and is forcefully denied. Reservation for women defeats democracy as democracy is all about a free choice. Nobody is preventing women from contesting. There are many women who have contested and come on their own. In this era, if people are demanding reservation for women, it is an insult to not just women but to men’s rights. men have to give equality to women and in return women cannot be held responsible. What a shame!

You are right. But your analysis in the end seem to suggest that boys are dumb. get your facts right, men are as much discriminated as women are. Just that women alone get all the sympathy and compassion. Do you know the level of distraction a boy in his teens faces? This is the era of nudity and its all over. Unlike 50 years ago when distractions were very few, today, a guy has far greater than anytime in earlier generations. I know several extremely intelligent guys who fared poorly in board exams. Women on the other hand have no such severe distraction as guys have. I am referring to the degree of distraction. Lastly, board exams don’t reflect the intelligence of a person - man or woman. Its just what you vomit in those 3 hours. Its called our education system.

The women’s reservation bill is just an example of how many women try to take the advantages of tradition and modernity by confusing the men and gaining their unreasonable sympathy! This issue is just a manifestation of the disease of taking undue advantages. Let women come up on their own. Who is stopping them from contesting and winning? Are they afraid of men?

Yes, women are given equal opportunities as men! You women will always crib about men but nobody is stopping women from contesting and winning elections. You cannot bring in issues of female foeticide and link that to reservations. Men have a lot lot to crib about and are as oppressed as women are. Just because they don’t complain does not give you the right to take advantage of men. Some mothers in some remote villages or certain sections of society maybe biased towards boys. but that is because boys are money-making machines for them. Further, you cannot take advantage of such situations and deny innocent men their basic rights. This is a cunning trick played by feminists. Moreover, women of today, were not born 100 years back. You have no right to claim undue advantages just because women in earlier centuries faced discrimination. MEN CAN ALSO CLAIM RESERVATIONS BECAUSE MEN ALSO FACE A LOT OF DISCRIMINATION.
